The Chinese Intellectual Property Office grants CINN a patent for ultrastable components

The State Intellectual Property Office of the People’s Republic of China (SIPO) has granted the CINN a patent on a novel ceramic nanocomposite with ultra low thermal expansion coefficient.

The CINN patented materials are based on beta-eucryptite solid soluctions with silicon carbide nanoparticles and does not only feature a null thermal expansion between -150ºC and 150ºC but also show an outstanding mechanical behavior (high mechanical resistance and stiffness). Thanks to this combination of properties CINN materials overcome the limitations of glass-ceramics and silicon carbide-based products currently used in applications such as satellite mirrors, electronic packaging, EUVL mirrors and high precision devices where the dimensional stability is critical.
