The inauguration of the hybrid sintering equipment (Spark Plasma Sintering / Hot Press) of CINN took place on Monday 28th October in Sotrondio (Asturias). The opening was in charge of the minister of Economy and Employment of the Principality of Asturias, Graciano Torre, the president of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), Emilio Lora-Tamayo, and the chancellor of the University of Oviedo, Vicente Gotor.
This hybrid sintering equipment (SPS / HP) is the cornerstone of a larger and more ambitious project, the establishment of a Development Unit of Multifunctional Materials whose recent launch has been carried out thanks to the establishment of a public-private partnership, initially signed by the following institutions:
- FCT Systeme GmbH
- Alusin Tecnologia, S.L.
- Nanoker Research, S.L.
- ATSG 98 Instrumentación, SL
- Nanomateriales and Nanotechnology Research Center ( CINN )
This new equipment will allow the manufacture of nanostructured-based components with near net shapes with dimensions up to 400 mm targeted among others at applications in aerospace, automotive industry, electronics and defense.
